Thank you to everyone who entered our Thanksgiving weekend haiku contest, and to our
contest judge Jeannine Everett a.k.a. Momaiku. Jeannine has chosen our winner!
Warm congratulations go out to Jessica L. Lane for this tiny gem:
Everyone is glum
Grandma burnt the rolls again
On to Jell-O shots
Well done, Jessica! Just email me with your choice of tote and I’ll get it right out to you.
Jeannine found it “hard to resist anything with Jell-O shots, and as a midwesterner at heart, there is no family gathering without Jell-O and half-burned crescent rolls.” To prove her cred (which you really shouldn’t question because I assure you she knows from haiku) Jeannine offers the following:
When spiked with Vodka
There's always room for Jell-O
Make it a double
Grandma tends the rolls
She thought to set the timer
But forgot she's deaf
Thanks to Jeannine, and to everyone who entered for helping me through this loooong weekend. I really enjoyed your haiku.
If you’re suffering the agony of defeat, go ahead and treat yourself to something special. You deserve it.
We had fun, didn't we? Haiku FTW!
